El Jefe, Margaritas y Mas

A bit pricey, but the Not Your Mama's Fried Chicken taco was really good. Also got the Caribbean now, which was pretty good, but could do without the aoli.

Come for the views and drinks. Our server was also very nice and attentive. I had the shredded beef enchiladas and the chips/salsa/guacamole appetizer. The guacamole was excellent, obviously made fresh daily as advertised. The salsa was tasty but devoid of heat. The enchiladas were...well, if you like like Ruby Tequilla style Tex Mex you’d love them. The beef was of good quality but very bland. There was virtually no heat to the red or green sauces. If you come hoping for good New Mexican food you will be very disappointed. But...if you want a place with a good beer and tequila selection, and the best outdoor patio dining area in Angel Fire, then check it out.

Good food, and friendly service. Not a whole lot on the menu but tacos and burritos, but then again, you can never go wrong with tacos. Good salsa bar as well.

We are here for Balloons over Angel Fire and decided we could walk to El Jefe from our condo. we were pleasantly surprised as to how good the food was. They haven't been open very long but if the food is any indication, they should be here to stay. Personally I had ground beef tacos and the brisket tacos. They are absolutely incredible. The staff were very friendly and the food came out to our table very fast. I would recommend El Jefe all day every day. Can't wait to come back during the balloon rally next year.

Tried this place for the first time, tonight and were very pleased. We got the Collin's Cal Burritos and they were HUGE! The variety of salsas were appreciated (I liked the tomatillo). You order at the counter, serve your own soft drink and then have a seat. They do serve mixed drinks and beer, as well. We'll be back.

Simple place to eat. We ordered chips and queso, the Carribean bowl, some tacos, the Hawaiian margarita (on the rocks) and a frozen strawberry margarita. Food was good and the drinks were on point, but slightly pricey. Other than that, it has indoor/outdoor self seating and you order when you enter the building.

Amazing!! Tacos and burritos are a great portion and delicious! The tacos are way bigger then your typical street taco. The new taqueria concept makes it fast and easy to get your food and drinks. I recommend the El Jefe Margarita! Yummy!! If your looking for some quick and delicious mexican food.. this is the spot! :)

We love this place! We eat here every biking trip, and every to trip to Angel Fire. The food is great, the views are entertaining and the service is friendly and fairly quick. Decent prices too. Great value for the money.

The food was good and the margs were great! Could have done without the love music but the patio was quiet enough that it wasn't too distracting

Fast and good food. We always eat there when we mountain bike. Good food, good portions, and fast. Just grab a menu, go to the bar and order. Then find a seat and they deliver the food. Get the cajun shrimp taco. My favorite!

The patio is nice with beautiful scenery. The staff are kind. We ordered the nachos with meat which are a shareable size. They were ok but not worth the $16. They are mostly lettuce and chips and the beans are canned. The meat however was pretty flavorful. They are worth trying but due to the price, I probably won’t order them again. I will return to try another dish.

Best place in town during off season

Ordered some tacos and a strawberry coconut margarita for lunch after a good half day of mountain biking. It was really good! I loved the extra salsas they had out. One of the better salsas I have had. Definitely my go to lunch spot!

Tonight was our first time in Angel Fire and loved this restaurant! Their chili con queso and guacamole were amazing!!!! My favorite taco was the shrimp taco!!! My husband ordered a huge burrito and ate it all. He loved it!!! We are definitely going back! You order first at the counter and then they bring it to your table. Everyone was very friendly!!!

Tasty local fare. Red, Green & Christmas available on most selections. Nice optional covered outdoor patio for evening happy hour drinks.

I'm glad you asked. The food is terrific!!! But when you have an elderly person with you and no one else is in the place, having the tv, music, and a conversation going.....it's too f ing much for the 100yr old.

We ordered tacos & they were delicious! People working there were very friendly. We sat outside to eat & the scenery was beautiful!
